Summer 2014

Year in Review

As we close out our fiscal year, we would like to share with you how very much we have accomplished together.

Since July, 2013, we have served 207 families.

This includes 604 people.

During this time period we have distributed 3,584 bags of food.

This would not be possible without your help. Thank you so much for enabling us to meet the needs of the families in our community.

How can I help?

We need Wed & Thurs staff members and on-call stockers

Looking for a way to increase your involvement with the pantry? Look no further!

The Food Pantry is seeking volunteers 21 and older to assist on shopping days. Volunteers would be scheduled no more than once a month on either Wednesday 8:15-11am and Thursday 6:15-9pm (your choice). You could also sign up to be an alternate, filling in when volunteers find themselves unable to make an assigned shift.

We also need "on-call" volunteers (can be students in high school/college) for weekend sorting/stocking during food drives fall/winter/spring.

To sign up, please fill out the Volunteer Form and indicate availability on the date of your choice.

Girl Scouts Rule!

The Scouts are always a huge supporter of the Food Pantry, but this year, several troops have gone above and beyond the call.

In addition to the Scouting for Food and individual food drives, Troop 30155 (Laura Anderson, Grace Campbell, Morgan Cote, Meghan Gillerin, Heather Loretta, Kelsie Lyons, Mackenzie Parker, Emma Shek and Jamie Smith) were the Bronze Award Recipients for a project "Filling up the Food Pantry."

And a huge congratulations to Elizabeth Wig- Gold Award Recipient for her project Helping the Northborough Food Pantry. Full details on her project can be viewed in the Winter newsletter.
